Hi, I am an adult female wearing Damon braces. I had braces as a 14 year old, which moved over time, and at 40 had Begg braces on with 4 x bicuspid extractions. Bad move in retrospect, as my front teeth tilted in so far my lips caved in and became very thin. I should not have had the extractions.
I moved to the Uk from Australia, and came across a very helpful ortho practice in Fulham, who are fixing the problem.So for the 3rd time I have a set of braces.The damons went on October 09.
My front teeth have since moved out nice and straight and powerchains have been put on the front six teeth top and bottom to close minor gaps. Then a hook near the eye teeth joins another set of powerchains top and bottom left and right, by attaching to a hook on 2nd molars to close bicuspid gaps by moving molars forward.
My lips are back to normal, my face is no longer caved in.
Its just a time waiting event for the molars to move forward. They are moving but its not fast.
